We have a wonderful life as newborn pups. The 80 degree weather is perfect for us during our early weeks of life. Our momma dog, Sandy knows just when to feed us, stimulate us to go potty, provide early neurological training and to take breaks for herself. She also flips us over when helping us go potty/poo which is good for our early neurological stimulation. It is also very healthy for us to crawl over one another and vie for position when feeding which is why a litter of at least two or more pups is the healthiest way for a puppy to be raised. This increases our stress tolerance and promotes gentleness and friendliness as we grow into adults. Although Trina has learned how to successfully socialize a singleton puppy into a gentle and friendly adult when that has occurred from an artificial insemination procedure.
Our eyes are beginning to open and are tiny slits currently. All four of us will be able to see Sandy, the world around us and the people in our lives, by Thursday!

P.S. For future owners: Puppy Pick visits will be Aug. 17th through the 24th or even the weekend of the 30th if needed. Puppy transitions to their new home will be at 9 weeks, the weekend of September 20th, 2014.
Key Things to remember once your puppy comes home:
- Have your puppy on a flexible schedule that fits your family and/or the basic schedule of your other dogs, if this is an addition. During the day, the puppy will need to go out every two or three hours when you are home, ten to fifteen minutes after eating/drinking, and immediately when waking up from sleeping. I'm happy to provide a sample sketch for you of a schedule if needed.
- Doodles want to please and are very intelligent. They respond very well to treats and positive reinforcement. Your puppy will have cuddly times. He/she will also have more active and playful moments and those are not the times for cuddling. Redirect with a toy/playing, walking, rawhide, or trick training with treats (15-20 minutes) whenever your puppy is displaying playful/nipping behavior. Playing with other dogs can be also very helpful when your puppy needing to work off his energy in a positive way. When your puppy is restful or sleeping is the time to cuddle. Signing up for a puppy class at 4-6 months old can be beneficial to all dog owners!
